CityCruiser Bicycle

Modeling, rendering, and part assemblies

Drawing inspiration from the nostalgic beach cruisers that adorned Southern California's coastline during my upbringing, this bicycle represents a contemporary adaptation tailored to thrive in urban surroundings. Retaining the beloved classic silhouette, the design has been ingeniously re-engineered to conquer narrow streets and bustling alleys with a newfound sporty edge. My journey involved meticulously crafting the bike's intricate components in SolidWorks, seamlessly assembling them, and culminating in a captivating visual rendition using KeyShot.

Design Inspiration

The design ethos of a beach cruiser exudes comfort and relaxation, characterized by its laid-back approach with relaxed angles on the seat and handlebars. Featuring wide, expansive handlebars and a continuous frame design, this bicycle style embodies a sense of leisure with its large, sweeping curves that evoke a timeless and effortlessly stylish aesthetic, perfect for casual rides along the coastline or leisurely exploration through city streets.

[Redesign]

In redesigning the frame of the beach cruiser to impart a sporty and agile demeanor, I retained the iconic sweeping curves and continuous frame while refining the lines to craft a speed-oriented form. By incorporating more aggressive angles suitable for street biking, the redesigned bicycle offers heightened responsiveness and maneuverability. Additionally, a significant reduction in weight amplifies its agility, ensuring a more nimble and efficient city commuting experience.
